PLEASE NOTE: The following badge edits are related to EdgeReg's PDF badging solution, and not touchless badging.
Added a “Check-In and Print Badge” button to Registrant Detail
A “Check-In and Print Badge” button has been added to the Registrant Detail page. This allows planners to use the Registrant Detail screen when managing registrants onsite and to generate a PDF badge and mark the attendee as "checked-in" all with the click of a button. This button can be enabled by setting the Badge Template and Label type at the bottom of the PDF Badges page under the "PDF Badge Preview" section.
Updated Badge Preview button on Registrant Detail
The Badge Preview button that displays on the Registrant Detail page when enabled on the PDF Badges page has been updated. It will now display the badge with the following changes:
- It will display a “PREVIEW” watermark.
- If created by our “Add New Badge” editor on the PDF Badges page, it will display only the size of the badge itself.
- If created using our legacy badge editor, it will continue to display on a full 8 ½" x 11” sheet.
Updated the Attendee facing Badge Preview within Self Service
The "Badge Preview" available via a link that displays within Self Service has been updated to display with the following changes:
- It will display a “PREVIEW” watermark.
- If a QR code is included on the badge, the preview will only display a generic QR code, not a user specific one.
- If created by our “Add New Badge” editor on the PDF Badges page, it will display only the size of the badge itself.
- If created using our legacy badge editor, it will continue to display on a full 8 ½" x 11” sheet.
These changes were made to help reduce the possibility of a registrant printing this badge preview multiple times and allowing for unauthorized access to the event, while also helping to more clearly display the badge at the size in which it will actually be provided.
This link can be enabled by setting the Badge Template and Label type at the bottom of the PDF Badges page under the "PDF Badge Preview" section and checking the "Show badge preview to attendees in self-service" checkbox.
Created a mail merge tag
A mail merge tag has been created for email communications to allow planners to share a link to the preview of an attendees badge. Inserting within an email message will insert a unique URL to a PDF of the attendee badge that will display as follows:
Including it as a link directly within the email also allows planners the ability to share a badge preview even if they do not want to allow registrants access to the self service page.
In order to use this mail merge, the Badge Template and Label type must be set at the bottom of the PDF Badges page under the "PDF Badge Preview" section.
Added ability to insert images that display in badge preview but don’t print
Images can now be added to badges that will display in previews, but will not display when the badge is printed.
This is useful for clients that have badge stock pre-printed with their event graphics or logo, and need to place the images on the badge for alignment purposes or to share to attendees what the badge will look like, but do not want that image to print from within EdgeReg when actually printing a badge for an attendee.
When adding a background image or inserting an image onto the badge, there is now a checkbox setting called "For Badge Layout and Preview Purposes only (Image will not print on badge)". Checking this box will allow the image to display in locations intended for preview purposes, but prevent it from displaying when running PDFs designed for printing badges.
Created an Onsite section within the Reports page for reporting Attendees by Date, No Shows , Conference Check-In Log and Printed Badges
For clients that use EdgeReg to track attendance, we have added the existing “Attendees by Date", "No Shows" and "Conference Check-In Log" reports as well as a newly created "Printed Badges" report to the Reports page within a new section called "Onsite".
Created a Printed Badges Report
We have created a "Printed Badges" report that will outline details of badges that have been printed via the newly created "Check-In and Print Badge" button as well as all other pre-existing "Print badge' functions, except for the "Pre-Print PDF badges" area.
Additional check when deleting a meeting
When attempting to delete a meeting, a user will now be required to complete an additional step of entering the name of the meeting into a field to verify their intentions before the meeting can be deleted. This will help to prevent the accidental deletion of meetings by users.
Fixed a broken receipt link mail merge tag within cancellation emails
The was not working when placed in the Cancellation email. This fix resolved this issue.
