  • CORE-5500: Grant course author role full HTML editor access.
  • CORE-5433: Fix course outline edit redirect for domain-based groups.
  • CORE-5507: Update group membership delete to clear user cache to avoid view errors on profile.
  • CORE-5512: Merge reminder-sent history forward on user merge.
  • CORE-5473: Limit admin access to group level permissions.

Additions

CORE-5500: Grant course author role full HTML editor access. Users in the Course Author role can now use the full HTML editor when editing course descriptions, providing the complete formatting capability previously limited to higher-level roles. This change gives content contributors the editing flexibility they need to produce polished course descriptions without requiring admin assistance.

Fixes

CORE-5433: Fix course outline edit redirect for domain-based groups. Resolved a regression where adding objects to a course outline on domain-based group sites triggered a "Page Not Found" error after each save. Objects such as Webforms, Quizzes, and Course Pages now save and load correctly within the outline editor, eliminating the workaround of navigating back in the browser to recover the new object.

CORE-5507: Update group membership delete to clear user cache to avoid view errors on profile. Addressed an intermittent issue where removing a user from a learning group or series left stale cached data, causing the affected user to encounter a login-blocking error on their next sign-in. Group membership removal now clears the user cache automatically, restoring access without requiring support staff or site admins to manually resave the user's profile.

CORE-5512: Merge reminder-sent history forward on user merge. Corrected an issue where merging one user account into another could cause previously-sent reminder emails, such as session expiration, completion, and thank-you notifications, to be resent to the retained account. The reminder-sent history is now remapped from the deleted user to the retained user during the merge process, ensuring users do not receive duplicate notifications for actions already completed.

Changes

CORE-5473: Limit admin access to group level permissions. The organic group permissions configuration page is no longer accessible to Site Administrators. Because these permission settings are managed in code and reset on every deployment, removing the page from the admin interface prevents confusion caused by changes that would not persist and reinforces that group-level permission adjustments are part of the development process rather than site configuration.
